PH logs 12,021 new COVID-19 cases, 9,591 recoveries

The Philippines recorded 9,591 new COVID-19 recoveries, bringing the total to 1,577,267, which constitutes 93.4% of the country's total 1,688,040 infections.

The Department of Health (DOH) also reported 12,021 new cases and 154 new deaths, increasing the active cases to 81,339 and the death toll to 29,374.

Of the active cases, 94.8% are mild, 1.5% are asymptomatic, 1.6% are severe, 1.15% are moderate, and 1% are in critical condition.

The DOH noted that 137 duplicates were removed from the total case count, with 129 of those being recoveries.

Additionally, three cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as active cases, and 112 cases that were recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
