PH Covid-19 recoveries hit 1.5 million with 4,343 new cases

The Philippines' total Covid-19 recoveries reached 1,532,494 with 4,343 new recoveries reported on August 5.

These recoveries now account for 94.1 percent of the country's total 1,627,816 Covid-19 infections.

Meanwhile, 8,127 new infections were reported, increasing the total number of active cases to 66,895.

About 94.6 percent of these active cases are mild, 1.1 percent asymptomatic, 1.3 percent critical, 1.9 percent severe, and 1.30 percent moderate.

A total of 196 new deaths were reported, bringing the total Covid-19 fatalities to 28,427.

On August 3, 17.3 percent of those tested were positive for Covid-19.

Adjustments were made to the total case count, including the removal of duplicates and reclassification of recoveries to deaths.
