PH COVID-19 reproduction rate up to 1.46, cases to increase

The Philippines' COVID-19 reproduction number has risen to 1.46, with an average of 11,127 new cases reported daily from August 8 to 14.

OCTA Research warned that new cases are very likely to continue increasing next week.

The national average daily attack rate (ADAR) is considered high at 10.23 per 100,000 population.

However, Ilocos Norte and Aklan are at critical risk with high ADARs, despite a slowdown in their one-week growth rates.

Seven provinces, including Cebu, Cavite, Laguna, Pampanga, Batangas, Misamis Oriental, and Cagayan, have healthcare utilization rates above 70%.
