PDEA destroys P2.3M marijuana plants in Ilocos Sur, Benguet

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) destroyed P2.3 million worth of marijuana plants in a two-day operation along the boundary of Ilocos Sur and Benguet.

The operation resulted in the uprooting of 10,800 fully grown marijuana plants and 3,500 seedlings from a 1,550-square meter land area across three plantation sites.

The eradication took place in Barangay Licungan in Sugpon, Ilocos Sur and Barangay Tacadang in Kibungan, Benguet.

No arrests were made during the operation.

In accordance with Republic Act 9165, the uprooted marijuana plants were immediately burned and destroyed onsite and documented by witnesses.
