PCOO, Bong Go hail inclusion of media workers in A4 vaccine priority

Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar praised the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) for including media workers in the A4 priority group for COVID-19 vaccination.

Senator Christopher "Bong" Go also welcomed the decision, highlighting the vital role of frontline media workers in information dissemination during the pandemic.

He pointed out that media workers, especially field reporters, put their health and safety at risk to keep Filipinos informed about the country's current situation.

Andanar stated that this inclusion reflects the Duterte government's commitment to protecting the rights and welfare of media workers.

The IATF-EID approved the recommendation of the PCOO and the Presidential Task Force on Media Security (PTFoMS) to place front-line media workers in the A4 category, deviating from the initial plan to classify them under B.

Andanar emphasized the vital role of front-line media workers in disseminating crucial information and ensuring the success of the country's fight against COVID-19.
