Govt eyes July for A4 vaccination of frontline workers

The government is targeting to begin the vaccination of the A4 priority group, which includes frontline workers, in July.

This is due to the continuing scarcity of vaccine supply, which affects inoculation efforts.

The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) recommended the inclusion of around 12.8 million frontline workers from nine industries to the A4 priority group.

Vaccinations for groups A1 (health workers), A2 (senior citizens), and A3 (persons with comorbidities) will continue to be prioritized until their completion.

Sectors included in the A4 priority group are accommodations; transportation including logistics services; public administration and defense; manufacturing of food, beverages, as well as medical and pharmaceutical products.
