PCO starts performance audit

Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Acting Secretary Dave Gomez has initiated a performance audit of the agency, emphasizing its urgency and the need for fairness, honesty, and unbiased assessment.

The audit includes a review of policies such as media accreditation and access for interviews, which have faced past criticism.

Secretary Gomez has begun one-on-one meetings with PCO officials to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.

He stated that his priorities include effectively communicating the President's policies and programs, championing press freedom, and leading the digital transformation of the PCO.

Additionally, Gomez vowed to continue the fight against fake news, aiming to correct misinformation and present facts to the public.

Gomez took his oath of office before President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Monday, replacing Jay Ruiz.
