PCO asks for courtesy resignations

Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Acting Secretary Dave Gomez has directed all political appointees within the office and its attached agencies to submit their unqualified courtesy resignations.

These resignations must be submitted no later than Friday, July 18, as part of a standard transition process and to give Gomez a free hand in his duties.

Until action is taken on these resignations, appointees will continue to report for work and perform their usual duties and responsibilities.

Gomez, who took his oath on July 11, is the fifth official to head the PCO under the current administration.

He has pledged to uphold government transparency, protect press freedom, and defend citizens' rights to free speech.

Gomez also sees an urgent need to conduct a fair, honest-to-goodness, unbiased performance audit of the office and has already started meeting with agency officials.
