PCG, AFP on alert as Typhoon Marce affects 751 individuals

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) are on heightened alert and have mobilized their resources in preparation for Typhoon Marce.

Rescue teams and assets from both organizations are ready for deployment and patrolling coastal areas, with specialized units like the AFP's 525th Combat Engineer Battalion on standby for urban search and rescue.

The PCG has activated its stations and sub-stations, while the AFP has pre-positioned engineering brigade assets, trucks, and rubber boats across the country.

Families are being urged to evacuate, and fishermen are reminded not to sail, with travel advisories issued for areas in the typhoon's path.

Typhoon Marce has sustained winds of 165 kph and gusts up to 205 kph, and was last seen east of Aparri, Cagayan, moving west-northwest.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reports that Typhoon Marce has already affected 751 individuals across the country.
