PBBM assures aid for Mindanao earthquake victims

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. assured that all necessary assistance will be provided to victims of the 6.8 magnitude earthquake in Mindanao.

He noted that reconstruction cannot begin while aftershocks persist, stating "ang problema talaga, hanggang assessment lang muna tayo kasi hindi tayo pwede magtayo ng kahit ano 'pag gumagalaw pa rin."

Marcos Jr. stressed the need to prioritize the reconstruction of schools and hospitals damaged by the earthquake.

At least 20 public schools and 78 classrooms were affected in Sarangani province, while 32 schools were damaged in General Santos City.

The President also said that reconstruction of damaged public schools and hospitals in Mindanao must be prioritized once the situation permits.

The earthquake, which struck Sarangani, resulted in at least seven reported deaths across Sarangani, South Cotabato, and Davao Occidental.
