PBBM orders faster relief for flood victims

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered government agencies to expedite relief operations for flood victims in Northern and Eastern Samar.

He directed the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to prioritize road repairs to ensure passable roads for the faster distribution of assistance.

Marcos Jr. also emphasized the need to provide food packs and adequate water supply to evacuees and those still at home.

The President led a situation briefing in Tacloban City to address the crisis, which has placed Northern Samar under a state of calamity.

Social Welfare Secretary Rex Gatchalian stated that the agency has prepared over 100,000 food packs for affected families.

The DSWD is finalizing the list of affected families for house damage assessment, which will be the basis for financial assistance for rebuilding.
