Bersamin: PBBM won't interfere in Sara's impeachment

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin affirmed that President Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos Jr. will not interfere in the impeachment complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte, emphasizing that the House of Representatives holds exclusive jurisdiction over such proceedings.

Bersamin stated that the President respects the institutions and will not intervene in matters falling under the exclusive jurisdiction of a co-equal branch.

The House of Representatives is set to transmit the three impeachment complaints against Vice President Duterte to the Office of the Speaker this week.

These impeachment complaints are linked to the alleged misuse of confidential funds during her previous role.

Vice President Duterte has welcomed the impeachment complaint filed against her.

Some lawmakers, including Representatives Arlene Brosas and France Castro, had previously condemned what they called an "unprecedented delay" in processing the complaints and attributed it to the President.
