Marcos marks birthday with P300M aid to patients in public hospitals
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. announced that the government will shoulder all expenses for medical services at Level 3 public hospitals nationwide on his 67th birthday, September 13.
This initiative covers inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services, including hospital bills, drugs, medicines, laboratory procedures, dental services, therapy, chemotherapy, and dialysis.
Marcos stated that the government's aim is to assist countrymen with medical needs by covering all their hospital fees.
To avail of these free services, patients must undergo an interview and evaluation at the hospital's Medical Social Services (MSS).
His office has set aside over P300 million to fund the medical expenses of public hospital patients for the day.
The assistance will be provided through the Department of Health's (DOH) Medical Assistance for Indigent and Financially Incapacitated Patients program.
