EO to probe DPWH flood control projects submitted to PBBM

An executive order creating an independent body to investigate anomalous flood control projects by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has been submitted to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

The commission members will come from diverse backgrounds, including investigators, prosecutors, and justices.

Malacañang has given serious study to the pending issuance of the order, and expects it to be welcomed by the people.

Marcos assured that the commission would be granted all necessary powers to conduct a thorough investigation.

Reports of substandard flood control projects worth billions of pesos have fueled public outrage.

The Philippine Congress has also launched an investigation into alleged large-scale corruption in flood control deals.
