Pasig to give P8k aid to families not in national SAP

Pasig City is allocating over P1 billion to provide cash assistance to around 150,000 families not included in the national government's Social Amelioration Program (SAP).

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto stated that 93,000 out of 260,000 qualified families were approved for the SAP by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The Pasig City Supplemental SAP aims to give around P8,000 cash assistance to families not covered by the DSWD's SAP, with the final amount to be confirmed on Thursday.

Mayor Sotto mentioned that the fund was generated by reallocating funds from small infrastructure projects that can be postponed.

The city government has received the SAP funds from the DSWD and is awaiting the final approved list of beneficiaries for distribution.
