Palace lukewarm to Robredo-Duterte vaccine infomercial

Vice President Leni Robredo is open to the idea of a joint vaccine infomercial with President Rodrigo Duterte, but Malacañang appears lukewarm to the proposal.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque stated that such an infomercial could only happen if Robredo acknowledges the equal effectiveness of all COVID-19 vaccines, including those from China.

Roque recalled that Robredo had previously questioned the use of Chinese vaccines, making it difficult for him to envision her promoting them as comparable to others.

He suggested that Robredo's past criticisms of Chinese vaccines were politically motivated.

Roque asserted that President Duterte has consistently encouraged the public to get vaccinated with any available brand of COVID-19 vaccine.

The Palace official implied that the vaccine rollout had been politicized by some.
