VP Duterte questions list of confidential fund recipients

Vice President Sara Duterte has questioned the authenticity of a list containing alleged recipients of her office's confidential funds, which includes names resembling snack brands and common given names.

She expressed uncertainty about the chain of evidence used by lawmakers to identify these questionable names in acknowledgment receipts.

Duterte stated she cannot address questions about the receipts due to doubts regarding the basis of the allegations and the handling of the evidence.

Malacañang, through Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro, has urged Duterte to prove the legitimacy of these alleged recipients.

House Deputy Majority Leader Paolo Ortega V views Duterte's statements as excuses and indicated that her impeachment trial, expected to begin in late July, would be the forum to address these issues.
