VP Sara urged to explain alleged dubious confidential fund recipients

Malacañang is urging Vice President Sara Duterte to explain the alleged dubious recipients of confidential funds from her office.

This call follows revelations of names such as 'Amoy Liu,' 'Fernan Amuy,' and 'Joug de Asim' appearing on receipts for the Department of Education's confidential funds, which Duterte previously headed.

Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Clarissa A. Castro stated that Duterte has an obligation to address these findings and speculations about alleged fake receipts.

Castro emphasized that given the Vice President's advocacy for transparency, it would be ideal for her to proactively explain these developments to the public.

The Office of the Vice President has been informed of the statement but has yet to issue a response.

The new article also mentions that Ms. Duterte was impeached in early February by the House of Representatives over alleged misuse of secret funds, unexplained wealth, and acts of destabilization, which she has denied.
