PAL to boost flights by over 50% in March amid tourism rebound

Philippine Airlines (PAL) will increase its flights by over 52 percent, adding more than 1,500 trips in March, to capitalize on the anticipated resurgence of Philippine tourism.

The expansion covers both domestic and international routes due to the easing of global travel restrictions.

Stanley K. Ng, acting president and chief operating officer of PAL, expressed optimism about a rebound in air travel, driven by efforts to promote tourism and cater to overseas Filipinos and a recovering economy.

Domestically, PAL will see a 56 percent increase in flights, with specific routes like Manila-Cebu and Manila-Boracay receiving significant boosts.

Internationally, the airline is adding more flights to North America, the Middle East, and Asia.

Specifically, flights to the US and Canada will rise by 24 percent, with increased services to Los Angeles and San Francisco, and additional weekly flights to New York, Vancouver, Honolulu, Toronto, and Guam by April.
