PAL, Cebu Pacific to resume flights with new safety measures

Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Cebu Pacific (CEB) are preparing to resume commercial flight operations with enhanced safety measures.

Both airlines will gradually resume limited domestic routes following the suspension of flights until May 15.

CEB will implement 'contactless flights' by encouraging online check-in and having passengers scan their own boarding passes, with physical distancing enforced.

Airline crew will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and undergo rapid antibody testing before deployment.

Passengers will be mandated to wear face masks throughout the flight, and thorough cabin disinfection will be conducted before and after flights.

PAL advised passengers to be at the airport early: four hours before international departures and three hours before domestic departures.

The temporary ban on international inbound flights will end on May 8, 11:59 p.m.
