PAGASA issues thunderstorm advisory over Metro Manila, Luzon areas

PAGASA issued a thunderstorm advisory for Metro Manila and several Luzon areas on Wednesday morning, warning of moderate to heavy rain with lightning and strong winds.

The advisory initially included Metro Manila, Cavite, Batangas, Pampanga, and Bulacan, with conditions expected to persist for two hours.

Later, an 11:52 a.m. advisory specified heavy to intense rains in parts of Metro Manila (Quezon City, Valenzuela, Malabon, Caloocan, Manila, Navotas, Marikina), Bulacan, Rizal, Pampanga, Bataan, Zambales, Tarlac, and Quezon.

The weather condition may persist for two hours and affect nearby areas.

Additionally, moderate to heavy rains with lightning and strong winds are expected over Nueva Ecija, Laguna, Cavite, and Batangas within the next two hours.

PAGASA advised residents in the affected regions to take necessary precautions against potential hazards like flash floods and landslides.

The southwest monsoon, also known as habagat, is the prevailing weather system expected to bring continued rains across most of the Philippines on Wednesday.
