OVP provides 2,000 relief boxes to Cebu quake victims

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) continues its relief operations in Cebu following a magnitude 6.9 earthquake.

Vice President Sara Duterte personally extended sympathies and assured residents of sustained assistance, visiting affected areas on Wednesday and Thursday.

As of 1 p.m. on October 2, 2025, the OVP had delivered 2,000 relief boxes, 3,100 boxes of Relief for Indigents and Individuals in Crises and Emergencies (RIICE) assistance, and 1,500 kilograms of rice.

Relief goods were distributed to families in Medellin, San Remigio, Bogo City, Tabuelan, and Tabogon.

The Vice President noted that many households still lack electricity and water supply.

VP Duterte also highlighted the need for stress debriefing for residents who are traumatized by the earthquake and fear of aftershocks.

She stated, "Napakahalaga ng stress debriefing sa mga tao dahil takot sila lahat sa nangyari, nagulat sila lahat sa nangyari, at takot sila na bumalik sa kanilang mga bahay."
