VP Sara Duterte unclear on OVP confidential fund receipts

Undersecretary Zuleika Lopez, Chief of Staff of the Vice President, stated she has no knowledge regarding the utilization of the Office of the Vice President's confidential funds, as these matters are outside her operational purview.

Vice President Sara Duterte mentioned she has not seen acknowledgment receipts for the confidential funds use, particularly those signed by 'Mary Grace Piattos'.

Duterte stated that all documents related to confidential funds are submitted directly to the Commission on Audit (COA) for auditing.

She also expressed uncertainty regarding the process of how copies of these receipts and submissions to COA are handled and provided to the House of Representatives.

Duterte commented that she has no comment on 'Mary Grace Piattos' as she has not seen the acknowledgment receipt and that all documents do not pass through her.

Lawmakers are offering a P1 million reward for anyone who can help identify 'Mary Grace Piattos,' a name that appeared on OVP acknowledgment receipts described by some House members as potentially 'fictitious'.

A House panel is also considering consulting a handwriting expert due to perceived similarities in handwriting and ink across several receipts.
