Vice President Sara Duterte will attend the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability hearing on November 29 to support Office of the Vice President (OVP) executives and personnel.
She stated she will answer questions under oath, a change from her previous refusal, explaining it was necessary to assist OVP personnel who feel safer with her presence.
Duterte was previously at a hearing on November 25 where she explained her oath-taking was to "help personnel" and questioned the committee's rules.
During that hearing, she also asked the committee to reconsider the "illegal" extension of detention for her chief of staff, Zuleika Lopez, who is confined at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC).
Duterte left the November 25 hearing to accompany Special Disbursing Officer Gina Acosta to the hospital after Acosta experienced a blood pressure spike following intense questioning.
Acosta, along with Lopez and other OVP personnel, had been cited for contempt and ordered detained for repeatedly disobeying congressional summons.
Duterte will be in Basilan and Lingayen, Pangasinan on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively, before returning to Manila to be with Lopez at the VMMC.
