OCD distributes masks, suits to 8 Metro Manila hospitals

The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) has distributed nearly 29,000 masks, 350 coverall suits, and hundreds of bottled waters to eight hospitals in Metro Manila.

These essential supplies were procured by the OCD to supplement the resources of hospitals attending to COVID-19 patients in the capital region.

Specific hospitals like East Avenue Medical Center and Philippine Children's Medical Center each received 5,000 surgical masks.

Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital and Sanitarium received 500 N95 masks on March 26.

On March 27, Veterans Memorial Medical Center was given 100 coverall suits and other supplies, while Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo Station Hospital received 400 surgical masks and 100 coverall suits.

The Philippine Heart Center received 5,000 surgical masks and 50 coverall suits on March 28.

Also on March 28, the Lung Center of the Philippines received 2,000 surgical masks, 500 N95 masks, 100 coverall suits, and 175 bottled waters, and the Philippine General Hospital was provided with 10,000 surgical masks and 250 coverall suits.

The OCD administrator urged the public to adhere to precautionary measures such as social distancing and frequent hand washing to support healthcare workers.
