5K cops to secure INC rally in Manila
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) is set to deploy approximately 4,500 police officers, bolstered by 500 personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine Coast Guard, and Bureau of Fire Protection, to ensure security during the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) national peace rally at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila on Monday, January 13.
NCRPO director Brig. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin stated that there is strong coordination with various government agencies and the INC leadership for the event's preparations.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is also deploying around 1,300 personnel to manage traffic, implementing rerouting and road closures in anticipation of a large influx of vehicles and attendees.
In preparation for the event, Malacañang has suspended government work and classes in Manila and Pasay City to mitigate potential disruptions caused by the expected high volume of traffic and attendees.
