NCR logs over 9,400 quarantine violators on first day of Alert Level 2

Police authorities recorded over 9,461 quarantine violators on the first day of Alert Level 2 in the National Capital Region (NCR).

This figure is slightly lower than the daily average of 9,746 violators during the Alert Level 3 period, from October 16 to November 4.

During Alert Level 3, nearly 195,000 individuals were reported as quarantine violators in NCR.

Of the 9,461 violators under Alert Level 2, 10 percent were curfew violations, a decrease from the 24 percent average during Alert Level 3.

The NCR was under Alert Level 3 from October 16 to November 4, and transitioned to Alert Level 2 from November 5 to November 21, 2021.

During Alert Level 3, the majority of violators received warnings (61%), while others were fined (33%) or faced other sanctions (7%).

Violations of minimum public health standards and curfew accounted for the bulk of violations during Alert Level 3.
