Metro Manila to remain under Alert Level 2 until Nov 21

Metro Manila will be under Alert Level 2 from November 5 to November 21, 2021.

The de-escalation was approved by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases based on decreased healthcare utilization, hospital bed occupancy, two-week growth rate, and average daily attack rate in the NCR.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire clarified that the shift was not sudden, as the situation in Metro Manila was continuously monitored.

She added that if the current mobility rate and compliance with health standards are maintained, and the detection to isolation period remains at five days or less, the country can expect around 22,000 active cases by November 15.

The total number of active cases as of November 5, 2021, was 37,377.

Alert level assignments will be determined at the 15th and 30th of each month starting December 1, 2021, with escalations possible anytime but de-escalations restricted to the end of the two-week assessment period.

The National Task Force Against Covid-19 and its regional counterparts are directed to provide weekly feedback on the alert level system's progress.
