NCR COVID-19 reproduction number drops to 0.52

The COVID-19 reproduction number in the National Capital Region (NCR) has dropped to 0.52, a new low since May, according to OCTA Research.

This indicates a continued slowdown in virus transmission within the NCR Plus Eight bubble, with all included areas showing reproduction numbers below 0.55 as of October 19, 2021.

Specific reproduction numbers for other areas include Cebu City at 0.52, Davao City at 0.49, Batangas at 0.51, Bulacan at 0.50, Cavite at 0.43, Laguna at 0.45, and Pampanga at 0.52, with Rizal at 0.55.

While NCR's positivity rate is 8%, Laguna has the highest at 17%, and Cebu City and Cavite have the lowest at 6% each.

Davao City has the highest ICU utilization rate at 68%, followed by Rizal (67%) and Batangas (65%), while Bulacan has the lowest at 43%.

NCR still has the highest average daily attack rate (ADAR) at 8.79, compared to Cebu City's lowest at 2.47.
