Palace sends condolences to kin of PNP doctor
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is investigating the death of Police Captain Casey Gutierrez, who allegedly died from inhaling chemical substances at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
Gutierrez reportedly had trouble breathing while undergoing the decontamination protocol at the facility on March 24 and died the next day.
The Palace has extended condolences to the family of Gutierrez, a police doctor.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque assured Gutierrez's family that the Department of Justice (DOJ) is investigating the case.
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Archie Gamboa also mourned Gutierrez's death and vowed to ensure no similar incident occurs in the future.
The NBI is also investigating 43 hospitals for allegedly refusing to admit patients, overpricing of medical equipment by Omnibus Bio-Medical Systems, Inc. and Sansure Biotech, and anomalous distribution of financial assistance.
