Navotas residents violating protocols to undergo RT-PCR test

Navotas City residents who are caught violating health and safety protocols, including curfew, will now be required to undergo an RT-PCR test.

Starting March 15, first-time offenders must schedule a swab test within a week of their apprehension.

Second-time offenders will also face a mandatory RT-PCR test if their first offense was over 14 days prior, in addition to a P500 fine or 16 hours of community service.

For minors caught for a third offense, their parents or guardians will be subjected to a mandatory RT-PCR test, while the minor faces the same fine or community service penalty.

Mayor Toby Tiangco stated that these penalties are part of City Ordinance No. 2021-17, which addresses violations such as not wearing face masks, failing to maintain social distancing, and disregarding curfew hours.

The mayor emphasized that these measures aim to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 by identifying and isolating infected individuals promptly.
