PNPA instructor dismissed for grave misconduct

The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) has ordered the dismissal of Police Major Anthony France Ramos, an instructor at the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA), for grave misconduct.

Ramos was found liable after a PNPA cadet accused him of forcing him to perform oral sex inside the instructor's quarters on July 31.

NAPOLCOM ruled that Ramos abused his authority to obtain sexual gratification, violating Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code on acts of lasciviousness.

The commission stated that his actions breached ethical standards and brought dishonor to the PNPA and the Philippine National Police.

NAPOLCOM vice chairman and executive officer Rafael Vicente Calinisan stated that the complainant's allegations were supported by sworn statements of two other officials who found the cadet in distress after the incident.

Calinisan emphasized that the commission will not tolerate sexual misconduct within the police force, stating Ramos is unfit to serve.
