MIAA fast-tracks NAIA improvements for better passenger experience

The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) is fast-tracking various improvements at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to enhance passenger experience and operational efficiency.

A new immigration annex at NAIA Terminal 3, designed to serve PWDs, senior citizens, diplomats, and OFWs, is targeted for completion by December.

This annex will be equipped with six counters and staffed by 24 immigration officers.

Ongoing projects include the construction and rehabilitation of comfort rooms across all four terminals.

Other infrastructure upgrades being expedited are the replacement of boarding bridges and chillers, taxiway enhancements, expanded CCTV coverage, and digitization efforts.

While some projects are slated for completion within months, others like the infrastructure upgrades are expected to be finished in two to three years.

MIAA officer in charge Bryan Co acknowledged recent disruptions, including a power outage at Terminal 3, and appealed for understanding and patience from stakeholders.
