MMDA announces road closures for Marcos Jr.'s SONA

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has announced road closures and alternate routes for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 22.

A zipper lane will be opened on the southbound lanes of Commonwealth Avenue for officials and guests attending the SONA at the Batasang Pambansa Complex.

Batasan-IBP Road will be closed to all vehicles starting at 8 a.m. on the day of the SONA.

Motorists are advised to use specific alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.

Northbound travelers from Elliptical Road should take North Avenue, turn right at Mindanao Avenue, and then right onto Sauyo Road or Quirino Highway.

Southbound travelers from Fairview should use Sauyo Road or Quirino Highway, turn left at Mindanao Avenue, and then left onto North Avenue.

Light vehicles from C5 Road can utilize Magiting Street, Maginhawa Street, and Mayaman Street to reach Kalayaan Avenue.

Trucks coming from C-5 along Katipunan Avenue should take Luzon Flyover and then turn left at Congressional Avenue.
