Metro Manila mayors mourn Noynoy Aquino's death

Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, Caloocan City Mayor Oca Malapitan, and Navotas City Mayor Toby Tiangco mourned the passing of former President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III, who died at 61.

Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso offered his condolences, recalling Aquino's championing of good governance reforms that promoted efficiency and reduced corruption.

Domagoso noted that the Philippines was cited as the fastest-growing economy in Asia during Aquino's administration.

San Juan City Mayor Francisco Zamora thanked the late former President Benigno "Noynoy" S. Aquino III for "serving the country well" and recalled experiencing Aquino's "brand of leadership" when he was the vice mayor of San Juan.

Fresnedi acknowledged Aquino's dedication to "Daang Matuwid" and his commitment to improving government services and supporting impoverished Filipinos.

Belmonte remembered Aquino's efforts to increase livelihood and alleviate poverty and hoped his leadership would inspire citizens.

Malapitan expressed gratitude for Aquino's kindness, concern, and dedication as the 15th President of the Philippines.

Tiangco extended heartfelt condolences to the Aquino family, praying that love and support would alleviate their grief.

Flags in Manila and Quezon City were lowered at half-mast in honor of the former president.

Aquino served as the 15th President of the Philippines from 2010 to 2016.
