Candidates kick off 45-day campaign for May elections

The official 45-day local campaign period for the upcoming May elections commenced yesterday, with candidates in Metro Manila initiating their bids through various activities such as rallies, house-to-house visits, and online promotions.

In Caloocan, Mayor Along Malapitan launched his campaign with a rally at Plaza Rizal following a mass at San Roque Cathedral.

Mayoral aspirant Antonio Trillanes IV commenced his campaign online, focusing on his platform and addressing corruption allegations, including issues related to ghost job order employees.

Malabon Mayor Jeannie Sandoval, who is running for re-election, started the campaign period by attending mass at San Bartolome Church, accompanied by her husband, former representative Ricky Sandoval, who is running for Congress.

Mayoral candidate Jaye Lacson-Noel and her team also began their campaign with a religious service at San Bartolome Church.

In Navotas, Mayor John Rey Tiangco and Representative Toby Tiangco engaged in house-to-house visits within their barangays to kick off their campaigns.

Valenzuela Mayor Wes Gatchalian initiated his reelection bid with a house-to-house campaign tour spanning two city districts.
