Metro Manila, 4 provinces to be under ECQ and GCQ with heightened restrictions

Metro Manila will be under general community quarantine (GCQ) with heightened restrictions until August 5, followed by enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) from August 6 to 20, 2021, as approved by President Duterte to curb the surge in COVID-19 cases and the Delta variant.

Four provinces - Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal - will be under GCQ with heightened restrictions from August 1 to 15.

Gingoog City, Iloilo City, Iloilo Province, and Cagayan de Oro City will be under ECQ from August 1 to 7.

Ilocos Norte, Bataan, Cebu City, Cebu Province, Mandaue City, and Lapu-Lapu City will be under modified ECQ (MECQ) from August 1 to 15.

Twenty other areas, including Ilocos Sur, Cagayan, Lucena City, Naga City, Antique, Aklan, Bacolod City, Capiz, Negros Oriental, Zamboanga del Sur, Misamis Oriental, Davao City, Davao del Norte, Davao Occidental, Davao de Oro, and Butuan City, will be under GCQ with heightened restrictions for the first half of August.
