Maynilad extends water interruptions due to Ipo Dam turbidity

Maynilad Water Services Inc. has extended service interruptions for customers in high-lying areas due to the continued inflow of turbid water from Ipo Dam, which was affected by Typhoon Ulysses.

The turbid water has reduced network pressure, impacting service in elevated parts of Maynilad's concession area.

Service interruptions were first reported on November 12 and may last until November 24 in some locations.

Maynilad's technical team is making system adjustments at its treatment plant, and the company has increased its mobile water tanker fleet.

The water concessionaire has also requested assistance from local government units and the local fire bureau to augment water deliveries.

Maynilad has apologized for the inconvenience and asked for continued customer patience during the clearing operations at their treatment facilities.
