Holiday declared, classes suspended for INC rally

Malacañang declared January 13, 2025, a special non-working holiday in Manila and Pasay City for the Iglesia Ni Cristo's (INC) National Rally for Peace.

The Quezon City government also suspended local government work and face-to-face classes from public daycare to senior high, including ALS.

The Senate suspended work on January 13 due to the INC rally, resuming sessions on January 14 at 3 p.m., excluding certain personnel.

The INC rally is expected to draw a crowd of one million to the Quirino Grandstand in Manila.

In Cagayan de Oro City, Mayor Rolando Uy ordered the suspension of classes in public elementary and high schools, as well as work in city government offices, for the INC national peace rally.

Mobile phone and internet signals will be temporarily disrupted in Cagayan de Oro City as part of security measures for the rally, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Several private schools in Cagayan de Oro City also suspended classes or shifted to asynchronous learning.

Misamis Oriental Governor Peter Unabia informed Mayor Uy that the provincial capitol could not join the work cancellation as they are set to open the Kuyamis Festival.

The INC rally is in support of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s stance against the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte.
