Magnitude 7.4 quake hits Davao Oriental, claims 2 lives

A magnitude-7.4 earthquake struck off Davao Oriental on Friday morning, resulting in two reported fatalities.

One reported death involved an elderly person who suffered cardiac arrest due to panic during the quake, while the other was a 54-year-old woman who fell against a wall.

The Office of Civil Defense has confirmed one death, but is still verifying the second casualty.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) has recorded 213 aftershocks in 41 different areas following the main tremor.
