Laoag City locks down sub-village for COVID-19 contact tracing

Laoag City has placed another sub-village, Sitio Dungtal Proper in Barangay 23 San Matias, under a 72-hour lockdown for contact tracing after a resident tested positive for COVID-19.

The confirmed case is a 34-year-old asymptomatic female who recently traveled from Calanasan, Apayao and is currently in isolation.

This follows a similar lockdown implemented last Saturday on a portion of Sitio 1 and 2 in Barangay 4 San Guillermo.

Mayor Michael Keon urged residents in affected areas to stay home and cooperate, emphasizing collective effort in combating the virus.

Meanwhile, major borders in Ilocos Norte are temporarily closed to locally stranded individuals to help front-liners manage the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the province.

Three new cases were also reported in Barangay 18, San Isidro, Pasuquin due to exposure to other patients.
