PRO 1 remains on lockdown with 66 COVID-19 cases

The Police Regional Office 1 (PRO 1) in Pangasinan remains under a total lockdown after 10 more police personnel tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections to 66.

PRO 1 Director Brig. Gen. Rodolfo S Azurin announced that out of 1,225 personnel swabbed, 1,151 tested negative, 66 confirmed positive, and eight are awaiting results.

Currently, there are 35 active cases within PRO 1, with 31 personnel having already recovered and no reported fatalities.

The majority of the cases are concentrated at the Regional Headquarters and the Pangasinan Provincial Police Office, with a few cases in La Union, Ilocos Norte, and Ilocos Sur.

The entire PRO 1 compound was placed under an indefinite total lockdown on September 7 to protect personnel and their families.

Brig. Gen. Azurin stated that the lockdown will continue until it is deemed safe and mass testing is completed.

Personnel who undergo RT-PCR testing are required to complete a mandatory 14-day quarantine, irrespective of their test results, before being allowed to leave the camp.
