ITCZ to bring scattered rains over Mindanao, parts of Visayas

Scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected across Mindanao and parts of the Visayas, including Palawan, Leyte, Southern Leyte, and Eastern Samar, due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

The ITCZ, a convergence of winds from the northern and southern hemispheres, may cause moderate to heavy rainfall leading to potential flash floods or landslides in these areas.

Central Visayas and the rest of the Visayas may experience scattered rains from afternoon to evening.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies, also carrying the risk of flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Several areas in Luzon, including Dagupan City, could experience a heat index peaking at 43°C.

The country will still experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.

As of 2 a.m., no low pressure area was monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation.
