The House Infrastructure Committee (InfraComm) will focus its September 9 hearing on companies linked to Pacifico and Sarah Discaya regarding alleged "ghost projects" and questionable contractors.
Panel chairperson and Bicol Saro Party-list Representative Terry Ridon confirmed that the hearing will compel the attendance of Discaya, president of Alpha and Omega General Contractor and Development Corporation.
Subpoenas have been issued not only to Discaya but also to several other executives of flagged firms, including Miguel Juntura of St. Timothy Construction Corp., Eumir Villanueva of Topnotch Catalyst Builders, Inc., Mark Allan Arevalo of Wawao Builders Corp., and Sally Santos of Syms Construction Trading.
These executives failed to appear in the previous hearing, prompting Congress to use its power to compel their attendance.
The Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB) had previously revoked the contractor's licenses of nine companies owned by Discaya for admitting to simultaneously bidding for government contracts through her companies.
