ICI includes ex-DPWH chief Bonoan in new recommended complaints
The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) has urged the Office of the Ombudsman to investigate former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officials, including ex-Secretary Manuel Bonoan, over alleged irregularities in a P72-million flood control project in Plaridel, Bulacan.
The ICI recommended the filing of graft charges and administrative complaints against Bonoan for grave misconduct, gross dishonesty, conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service, or violation of RA 6713.
This is the first time the former DPWH top official has been included in the ICI's recommendations.
The Commission on Audit had previously flagged the project for being constructed in a mismatched site and falling short of approved specifications.
The project, built by TopnotchCatalyst Builders, Inc., also lacks supporting documents for validation.
