House panel grants furlough to 4 OVP-linked individuals

The House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability granted a furlough to four individuals previously cited in contempt, who are linked to the Office of the Vice President (OVP).

The four individuals are Lemuel Ortonio, Sunshine Fajarda, Gina Acosta, and Edward Fajarda.

Their furlough is contingent upon their commitment to attend the next hearing on Friday.

This development occurred during the committee's investigation into the alleged misuse of confidential funds by the OVP and the Department of Education.

Committee chairman Joel Chua clarified that the contempt order against them has not been officially lifted, only temporarily allowed."Allowed silang lumabas, parang temporarily lifted yung [contempt] pero hindi officially lifted. So parang briefly, with the commitment na sa Friday, aattend sila."

During a previous hearing, it was disclosed that a security officer and the OVP's security chief were authorized to disburse these funds.
