Hontiveros eyes Senate minority leadership or independent bloc

Senator Risa Hontiveros aims to secure the Senate minority leadership or establish an independent bloc in the upcoming 20th Congress.

Hontiveros expressed her interest in the minority leadership role, stating it's a common goal for outgoing minority blocs that have gained allies in new elections.

She noted that the decision often depends on the numbers and the practice of the losing candidate for Senate President becoming the minority leader.

If she does not secure the minority leadership, Hontiveros plans to form or join an independent bloc within the Senate.

Hontiveros hopes to collaborate with newly elected Senators Bam Aquino and Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan, either in the minority or an independent bloc.
