Habagat weakens but rains to persist in Luzon

The southwest monsoon or "habagat" is gradually weakening as Super Typhoon Yagi moves away from the Philippine Area of Responsibility but will still bring rains across Luzon on Friday.

Heavy rains are still possible, particularly in Northern and Central Luzon.

Occasional rains are expected in Pangasinan, Zambales, and Bataan, with moderate to heavy rainfall posing risks of flash floods or landslides.

Batanes and Babuyan Islands will experience scattered rains and thunderstorms due to Yagi's trough, also with a possibility of flooding or landslides.

Metro Manila, CAR, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and the rest of Ilocos and Central Luzon will encounter cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

Strong winds and rough seas will continue to prevail in the western section of Luzon, while the rest of Luzon will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas.
