Habagat to bring rains over parts of Luzon Sunday

The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) is expected to bring rains over some parts of Luzon on Sunday, September 8, 2024, according to weather bureau PAGASA.

Provinces such as Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Batanes, and Babuyan Islands will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, with a possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall.

However, Metro Manila and the rest of the country can expect sunny weather, with chances of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.

PAGASA is also tracking two low pressure areas (LPAs) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, one of which may enter the PAR in the coming days.

Last week, monsoon rains enhanced by tropical storm Enteng triggered landslides and floods that left at least 20 people dead, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported.
