Habagat brings rain to various PH areas

The southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, is expected to bring rain showers across various parts of the Philippines on Thursday, according to PAGASA.

Moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms are expected to affect Tarlac, Zambales, Pampanga, and Bataan in Central Luzon within the next two hours.

Occasional rains are also anticipated in Ilocos Norte, Apayao, and Babuyan Islands, with a risk of floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rainfall.

Central Luzon, the remainder of the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, also carrying a risk of flash floods or landslides from moderate to heavy downpours.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, with potential for flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Northern and western parts of Northern Luzon will face strong winds from the southwest, leading to rough coastal waters.

The rest of Luzon will have moderate to strong southwestward winds and moderate to rough coastal waters.

Visayas and Mindanao will experience light to moderate southwestward winds with slight to moderate coastal waters.
